The Historical Trust researches and maintains comprehensive records of our club’s history. That led to the publication in 2022 of a 6-volume reference work with all copies sold. 4 volumes covered all matches since 1902 down to Under-18 level (or the earlier equivalent) and the remaining 2 volumes gave biographical details of the players involved in those matches.

Match details included both teams’ line-ups, time and venue of matches, attendances, league positions after each game, referees, scorers with times and other match detail such as cautions. The chronological record also covers the pre-history of earlier attempts to form a club representing Norwich, annual accounts, the arrival and departures of players, league tables, pricing arrangements, and much more.
Older visitors to this site will remember Rothmans Football Yearbooks which, before the internet, sat on every manager’s desk. Jack Rollin, the Rothmans editor, described our efforts as having produced what is probably the most detailed work on any club in the country; probably in Europe. This shameless advertisement ends.
Since publication The Archive records are still updated with recent events and more researched detail from the past.
As with items sought as additions to the collection we welcome any contributions of new facts or corrections of our previous research. If you have contact with, or know, someone who played briefly for our ‘B’ team, have more knowledge of a poorly recorded match, copies of old financial reports, details of construction work at any of the grounds, or anything which warrants recording then the Trustees will be pleased to hear from you.
