Trust to attend screening of “The Last Guest of the Holloway Motel”

This new film tells the story of former player Tony Powell as he reflects on his past.

This is a moving and layered portrait of Tony, a former 1970s football star, now an ageing manager of the dilapidated Holloway motel. He disappeared for more than 40 years after abandoning his life and family for a new life in West Hollywood, rather than face the repercussions of coming out as gay at the height of his career.

UK sequences, including shots at Carrow Road, were filmed in April 2024. During this time, the Trust worked with Tony and the Production team to help in the making of the film.

At the end of the month, Richard Bland, the Trust’s chairman, will attend a screening of the film at the BFI Flare film festival in London.
